A Weimaraner in Oklahoma City had an experience that is hard to stomach: He swallowed a half bottle of Gorilla Glue. Krystal Wilson said the sticky situation began when Lake, her 6-month-old pup, saw some glue that was being used for a home improvement project and mistook it for food. “Just a small amount had just swollen up to the size of a turkey leg,” Wilson told KFOR TV. “It was huge, pretty much took the size of her stomach.”
Dr. Hehn's Take
Although this may sound like a bizarre story, it is actually not all that uncommon for dogs to swallow glue. Gorilla glue begins to expand when it contacts water. This expansion quickly causes an obstruction and requires emergency surgery.
