Tick-borne illnesses are on the rise. No matter where you live, you and your pets can be at risk for rickettsial diseases.

TickEncounter.org is a site that will tell you anything and everything you ever wanted to know about ticks. It offers up to date information and is a fantastic resource for your clients.

tick1.jpgThe site shows how to properly remove ticks, recommendations for treating and preventing ticks, information about tick diseases and testing, and identification of the tick.

They also offer a "Tickspotting" service, so that individuals and participating veterinary clinics can submit photos of ticks (they provide a reference chart) and information about where it was found. They use crowd-sourced information to track various types of ticks around the country.
